Spe­cial vot­ing be­gins at 8 am to­day for UNC’s na­tion­al ex­ec­u­tive elec­tions which are be­ing held on Sat­ur­day. But there is no word from UNC gen­er­al sec­re­tary Pe­ter Kan­hai on how many spe­cial vot­ers are in­volved.

The UNC’s elec­tion man­age­ment com­mit­tee, head­ed by Dar­rell Al­la­har, told Guardian Me­dia yes­ter­day via email, “We can con­firm that spe­cial vot­ers are ex­pect­ed to cast their bal­lots at the UNC head­quar­ters in Ch­agua­nas from 8 am to 2 pm. That is as much as the com­mit­tee wish­es to say at this point.”

The elec­tion man­age­ment com­mit­tee on a pre­vi­ous oc­ca­sion had al­so re­ferred queries to the gen­er­al sec­re­tary on the to­tal num­ber of vot­ers reg­is­tered for the Na­tex.

Since then, there has been no word from the gen­er­al sec­re­tary, and this con­tin­ued yes­ter­day. Some UNC head of­fice of­fi­cials re­ferred the query on the spe­cial vot­er num­bers back to the com­mit­tee.

Kan­hai did not re­ply to texts or calls. Nor did UNC PRO Kirk Meighoo. MPs from the Stars and Unit­ed Pa­tri­ots slates couldn’t give fig­ures ei­ther.
