“Riot” with your finger when elections are called and vote out the People’s National Movement, say United National Congress senators and MPs.

They indicated this at Monday night’s UNC Forum, which was not attended by leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar. Party officials said she had another engagement.

Senator Damien Lyder called on the Local Government “Wacker man” Minister to give the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation funds to fix issues, including flooding.

He said people were fearing for their lives under the PNM and T&T was reaching 600 murders.

He said people wanted the PNM out and in the next general election, people would “riot with their voting finger”, in an apparent reference to last week’s riots in Port-of-Spain.

MP Michelle Benjamin said while food prices were rising, Government had “side-stepped” Moruga farmers—but Moruga has hill rice and similar produce and the high rice prices wouldn’t have been necessary if the sector was handled better.

She also urged people to “riot” with their finger at elections.

Senator Anil Roberts, who bitterly slammed Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, questioned the alleged payment of public monies of $10,000 to PNM PoS South MP Keith Scotland as a member of the Community Recovery programme, “...to take care of his own constituency... PNM pay Keith Scotland—well all yuh vote for dat!” Roberts said.
