The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress (UNC) has is­sued a state­ment wish­ing a speedy re­cov­ery to for­mer UNC Min­is­ter of Sport Manohar Ram­saran.

The state­ment read: "The UNC wish­es for­mer Min­is­ter of Sport and MP for Ch­agua­nas, Manohar Ram­saran, 73, a speedy re­cov­ery from "the har­row­ing at­tack on him". We al­so wish to see that jus­tice is quick­ly served in this mat­ter."

Ram­saran was at­tacked by a home­less man at the Munroe Road Crick­et Club af­ter telling the man who was us­ing the ground for shel­ter, to move.

He was ward­ed at the Mt Hope hos­pi­tal.

A sus­pect is now in po­lice cus­tody.
