A Venezuelan national drowned yesterday while cleaning a pond in Barrackpore. He has been identified as 23-year-old Zeiller Emerson Gonzales, who was staying at GP Road, Barrackpore.
Gonzales was part of a group—including other Venezuelan nationals—who had been hired to clean a pond at Surprise Road. Around 3:30 p.m., he got into difficulty and went under.
Hours later, members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Vallence Rambharat, located his body.
Barrackpore police are investigating.
