A Venezuelan woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 65-year-old resident at Icacos Village in Cedros with a broken bottle over the weekend.
The 65-year-old victim and the 33-year-old suspect both resident in the village.
Police said around 2 am on Saturday the victim and the suspect were involved in an altercation which led to the Venezuelan woman smashing a bottle and stabbing him in the left side of his chest.
The victim was taken to the Point Fortin Hospital where he was warded in a critical but stable condition.
Cpl Ramroop and PC Ramkissoon conducted further enquiries and arrested the Venezuelan national.
Cedros police are investigating.
