Vet­er­an jour­nal­ist and News­day Crime Ed­i­tor, Nali­nee See­lal, has died.

Guardian Me­dia spoke with her hus­band a short while ago who con­firmed the vet­er­an jour­nal­ist’s pass­ing. 

Nali­nee’s hus­band, a for­mer cam­era­man at IE TV, has been her sole care provider since she be­gan ail­ing.  Nali­nee had been suf­fer­ing from sev­er­al com­pli­cat­ed health is­sues.

He told Guardian Me­dia he got up around 4:30 am to­day (Mon­day 9 Jan­u­ary 2023) to use the wash­room as he nor­mal­ly does.  He said when he went to check on Nali­nee as he is ac­cus­tomed, he dis­cov­ered she had no vi­tals.

He con­tact­ed both the po­lice and health ser­vices.

Emer­gency health work­ers con­firmed that she had passed away when they ar­rived. Her body was re­moved to Boodoo's Fu­ner­al Home, Cunu­pia.

De­tails on fu­ner­al arrange­ments are yet to be fi­nalised.
