WASA: Customers served by Navet Water Treatment Plant should not use water

The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty says cus­tomers served by the Navet Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant should not use the wa­ter. In a press re­lease is­sued this af­ter­noon, the Au­thor­i­ty asked cus­tomers to leave their gar­den taps open un­til the wa­ter sup­ply runs clear to al­low the flush­ing of their lines. Fur­ther, those cus­tomers with in­ter­nal stor­age are asked to lock off the sup­ply to their stor­age. 

The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from WASA:

Cus­tomers in fol­low­ing ar­eas in parts of South-East Trinidad served by the Navet Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant, who are ex­pe­ri­enc­ing a dis­coloured sup­ply in their lines are ad­vised not to use the wa­ter:

Princes Town (Churkoo Vge, Cedar Hill, Man­a­ham­bre, Mal­gretoute, , Iere Vge, Craig­nish, St Croix, Cun­jal, Pa­pourie, Jaipauls­ingh, Lengua), Williamsville, Tabaquite, Poon­ah, Re­form, Har­mo­ny Hall, Morne Roche Quar­ry Road, Morichal, Pi­paro, White­land, Sis­ters Road, Broth­ers Road, Hard­bar­gain, Rio Claro, Cushe, Parts of Ma­yaro, Table­land, New Grant, Cachippe, Hin­dus­tan, Poui Trac, St. Julien, St. Mary’s, Friend­ship, Ste Madeleine, Cedar Hill, Bor­de Narve, Bronte, Mon­key Town, Bar­rack­pore, Pe­nal Rock Road, Rochard Road, Rochard Dou­glas Road, Bun­see Trace, Clarke Rd, Lengua, Gol­con­da, Re­trench, Corinth, Palmyra, Re­form, Mt Stew­art, St Charles, St Clements This oc­cur­rence is as a re­sult of the low clear­well lev­els at the Navet Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant fa­cil­i­ty.

The Au­thor­i­ty is cur­rent­ly car­ry­ing out flush­ing ex­er­cis­es on its wa­ter dis­tri­b­u­tion net­work which is ex­pect­ed to be com­plet­ed by Tues­day 17th May 2022 at 12.00 noon and the sup­ply to all af­fect­ed cus­tomers should be re­stored with­in 48 hours. Cus­tomers are asked to leave their gar­den taps open un­til the wa­ter sup­ply runs clear to al­low the flush­ing of their lines.

Fur­ther, those cus­tomers with in­ter­nal stor­age are asked to lock off the sup­ply to their stor­age. In the in­ter­im a truck borne sup­ply will be made avail­able to all af­fect­ed cus­tomers. The Au­thor­i­ty apol­o­gizes for the in­con­ve­nience and thanks cus­tomers for their pa­tience and un­der­stand­ing.
