The Water and Sewerage Authority says customers served by the Navet Water Treatment Plant should not use the water. In a press release issued this afternoon, the Authority asked customers to leave their garden taps open until the water supply runs clear to allow the flushing of their lines. Further, those customers with internal storage are asked to lock off the supply to their storage.

Customers in following areas in parts of South-East Trinidad served by the Navet Water Treatment Plant, who are experiencing a discoloured supply in their lines are advised not to use the water:
Princes Town (Churkoo Vge, Cedar Hill, Manahambre, Malgretoute, , Iere Vge, Craignish, St Croix, Cunjal, Papourie, Jaipaulsingh, Lengua), Williamsville, Tabaquite, Poonah, Reform, Harmony Hall, Morne Roche Quarry Road, Morichal, Piparo, Whiteland, Sisters Road, Brothers Road, Hardbargain, Rio Claro, Cushe, Parts of Mayaro, Tableland, New Grant, Cachippe, Hindustan, Poui Trac, St. Julien, St. Mary’s, Friendship, Ste Madeleine, Cedar Hill, Borde Narve, Bronte, Monkey Town, Barrackpore, Penal Rock Road, Rochard Road, Rochard Douglas Road, Bunsee Trace, Clarke Rd, Lengua, Golconda, Retrench, Corinth, Palmyra, Reform, Mt Stewart, St Charles, St Clements This occurrence is as a result of the low clearwell levels at the Navet Water Treatment Plant facility.
The Authority is currently carrying out flushing exercises on its water distribution network which is expected to be completed by Tuesday 17th May 2022 at 12.00 noon and the supply to all affected customers should be restored within 48 hours. Customers are asked to leave their garden taps open until the water supply runs clear to allow the flushing of their lines.
Further, those customers with internal storage are asked to lock off the supply to their storage. In the interim a truck borne supply will be made available to all affected customers.
