The Water and Sewerage Authority says repair works on the Siparia Water Treatment Plant, to correct a downhole issue impacting Siparia Well #14, have slowed down, as recent adverse weather and the poor condition of the access road, have made it difficult for heavy equipment to perform the maintenance works.
As a result, customers served by the Plant who currently are experiencing a disruption in their water supply due to reduced production there, will have to wait a bit longer for relief.
“The Authority thanks all those affected for their patience and understanding,” WASA says in an advisory.
WASA assures that repair works will accelerate as conditions improve, with completion projected to 8:00 pm on Tuesday 8 November 2022.
Customers are reminded that upon restoration of production, it may take up to 24 hours for the pipe-borne water supply to be restored in some areas.
The affected areas include:
Quinam Road, Sennon Village, Railway Road, Mary, George & Victoria, Upper De Gannes, Lower Coora Road, Coora Hernandez Road, Coora Extension, Mendez, Saney Trace, Kay Trace, Prana Home Development, High Street, inclusive of all side streets.
