The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) has ad­vised cus­tomers in parts of Cen­tral Trinidad served by the Freeport Wa­ter Treat­ment Plant, who have been ex­pe­ri­enc­ing an in­ter­rup­tion in their pipe-borne wa­ter sup­ply that this has been due to re­cent in­ter­mit­tent is­sues im­pact­ing op­er­a­tions at the fa­cil­i­ty. 

WASA said these in­clud­ed emer­gency re­pairs at Freeport Well #15 on March 6, as well as a de­fec­tive valve and bro­ken raw wa­ter pipeline that were re­paired on March 13. 

The Au­thor­i­ty said this sit­u­a­tion has re­sult­ed in de­lays to the wa­ter sup­ply sched­ule to some ar­eas served by the fa­cil­i­ty 

WASA said the af­fect­ed ar­eas ex­pect­ed restora­tion of ser­vice are 

Preysal 14th to 15th March, Chick­land 15th to 16th March and Siew­dass Road 16th to 17th March
