Last September Wayne Bowman celebrated 28 years in journalism.
On September 12 the New Editor (Features ) of the Trinidad Express newspaper took to his Instagram page to celebrate that accomplishment and spoke about his professional challenges and achievements during that period.
Bowman ended his post with the line:
"I hope to continue to be of service to the cultural fraternity and people in general for as long as God will allow."
Bowman passed away last night.
Trinidad Express Editor-in-Chief Omatie Lyder confirmed Bowman's passing this morning.
Lyder said the death left her in shock as she had spoken to Bowman on Sunday.
"He was a talented writer covering the entertainment sectors. He was a valued employee, team player, and friend."
Bowman started as a columnist with the T&T Guardian writing a music review column named 'Hott Wax'.
When Peter Ray Blood joined the T&T Guardian as its Entertainment Editor he invited Bowman to come on board full time.
In 2004 he was invited to the Trinidad Express by then features editor Deborah John.
