Last Sep­tem­ber Wayne Bow­man cel­e­brat­ed 28 years in jour­nal­ism.

On Sep­tem­ber 12 the New Ed­i­tor (Fea­tures ) of the Trinidad Ex­press news­pa­per took to his In­sta­gram page to cel­e­brate that ac­com­plish­ment and spoke about his pro­fes­sion­al chal­lenges and achieve­ments dur­ing that pe­ri­od.

Bow­man end­ed his post with the line:

"I hope to con­tin­ue to be of ser­vice to the cul­tur­al fra­ter­ni­ty and peo­ple in gen­er­al for as long as God will al­low."

Bow­man passed away last night.

Trinidad Ex­press Ed­i­tor-in-Chief Omatie Ly­der con­firmed Bow­man's pass­ing this morn­ing.

Ly­der said the death left her in shock as she had spo­ken to Bow­man on Sun­day.

"He was a tal­ent­ed writer cov­er­ing the en­ter­tain­ment sec­tors. He was a val­ued em­ploy­ee, team play­er, and friend."

Bow­man start­ed as a colum­nist with the T&T Guardian writ­ing a mu­sic re­view col­umn named 'Hott Wax'.

When Pe­ter Ray Blood joined the T&T Guardian as its En­ter­tain­ment Ed­i­tor he in­vit­ed Bow­man to come on board full time.

In 2004 he was in­vit­ed to the Trinidad Ex­press by then fea­tures ed­i­tor Deb­o­rah John.
