Westmoorings woman stabbed by relative during argument

A West­moor­ings woman was stabbed sev­er­al times by a male rel­a­tive dur­ing an ar­gu­ment on Thurs­day.

Re­ports in­di­cate the 26-year-old vic­tim, who lives at St An­tho­ny’s Dri­ve, and the sus­pect got in­to an ar­gu­ment at her home around 9.30 pm, dur­ing which time the man grabbed a knife and be­gan stab­bing her about the body.

An­oth­er male rel­a­tive who was present at the time in­ter­vened and broke up the phys­i­cal al­ter­ca­tion.

He then rushed the in­jured woman to the St James In­fir­mary, where she was treat­ed be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

The vic­tim re­mained in a sta­ble but crit­i­cal con­di­tion up to yes­ter­day. The sus­pect, from Mal­oney Gar­dens, was be­ing sought by in­ves­ti­ga­tors yes­ter­day, as he re­mained on the run.

The scene was processed and the knife re­port­ed­ly used in the at­tack was re­trieved from the apart­ment.
