A 45-year-old Williamsville man escaped unharmed after his home and car were firebombed on Sunday night.
The victim was asleep around 10.30 pm in his plywood home when he heard cracking sounds coming from outside. On checking, he saw his $65,000 Elantra motor vehicle, which was parked in an open area in front of his house on fire, and two suspects wearing dark clothing throwing missiles at his home, causing the structure to become engulfed in flames.
As he ran to neighbour’s home for assistance, he heard loud explosions. The house was valued at $120,000.
Firefighters from the Mon Repos Fire Station extinguished the flames.
PC Narace of the Gasparillo Police Station is investigating.
