Less than a month af­ter she was shot in her home, a Princes Town moth­er of four has died.

Fifty-sev­en-year-old Wendy Thomas of Solomon Street, Cedar Hill Vil­lage, Princes Town, died at 9.17 pm in the In­ten­sive Care Unit of the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal on Tues­day.

Thomas was in her gallery at 10.10 pm on Jan­u­ary 27 when a man en­tered her yard and shot her in the chest.

Po­lice ar­rest­ed a 32-year-old res­i­dent the fol­low­ing day and charged him with at­tempt­ed mur­der and pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

Thomas’ un­cle Kei­th Thomas, 63, told Guardian Me­dia yes­ter­day that his niece and the sus­pect were ar­gu­ing be­cause he did a trans­port job for her some time ago and was de­mand­ing pay­ment.

Lament­ing the spike in vi­o­lence with­in the coun­try, he said, “It is like the wild, wild, west now and peo­ple want to set­tle their own score. These are the times that we are liv­ing in. We are in the end times and the dev­il is mov­ing around look­ing to take who he could take.”

He said fu­ner­al arrange­ments were not yet fi­nalised.
