A 20-year-old woman drove her car into a bandit who tried to rob her and her father in Penal on Sunday afternoon.
Police said the woman and her 40-year-old father went to Fazal Avenue, at around noon to sell their brown Kia Sportage to a man they met online.
Both father and daughter met two men who they thought were the customers.
The father got out of the car to open the bonnet for the men to inspect the vehicle. However, two gunmen ran out of nearby bushes to rob them.
The daughter, who was still in the car, observed the commotion and drove off with the vehicle, knocking down one of the bandits and crashing into a wall. Another bandit shot at the car hitting the right side of the bonnet.
The armed men then ran to a Nissan AD Wagon that was parked nearby and sped off.
Officers from the Penal Police Station and South Western Division Task Force were called in and searched for the bandits but did not find anyone.
The white Nissan AD Wagon was later found abandoned on Sunrees Trace, Penal.
The father and daughter were unharmed.
