A 43-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Marabella last night.
Ikeisha Wildman, also known as Freeda, of Theresa Street, Marabella, succumbed to her injuries at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Police responded to a report of a wounding around 7.30 pm at Theresa Street. As they were entering the street, they were stopped by the occupants of a silver Toyota Fielder wagon which was exiting at high speed.
The occupants indicated that they were taking the victim to the hospital and requested a police escort. Wildman suffered stab wounds to her chest and abdomen and was pronounced dead around 7.55 pm.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident but believe she was stabbed during a dispute.
Police were told that around 7.10 pm, Wildman’s sister was at home when she heard Wildman call out her name. Wildman lived opposite her home.
On checking, she saw a man whom she knows in the yard, and he told her that her sister had been stabbed.
Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating.
