A 43-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Mara­bel­la last night.

Ikeisha Wild­man, al­so known as Free­da, of There­sa Street, Mara­bel­la, suc­cumbed to her in­juries at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

Po­lice re­spond­ed to a re­port of a wound­ing around 7.30 pm at There­sa Street. As they were en­ter­ing the street, they were stopped by the oc­cu­pants of a sil­ver Toy­ota Field­er wag­on which was ex­it­ing at high speed.

The oc­cu­pants in­di­cat­ed that they were tak­ing the vic­tim to the hos­pi­tal and re­quest­ed a po­lice es­cort. Wild­man suf­fered stab wounds to her chest and ab­domen and was pro­nounced dead around 7.55 pm.

Po­lice are still in­ves­ti­gat­ing the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent but be­lieve she was stabbed dur­ing a dis­pute.

Po­lice were told that around 7.10 pm, Wild­man’s sis­ter was at home when she heard Wild­man call out her name. Wild­man lived op­po­site her home.

On check­ing, she saw a man whom she knows in the yard, and he told her that her sis­ter had been stabbed.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion 3 are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
