A woman who al­leged­ly stabbed her com­mon-law hus­band to death dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion has been charged with manslaugh­ter.

Thir­ty-six-year-old Vernisha Mo­hammed was grant­ed $80,000 bail with a cash bail al­ter­na­tive of $10,000 when she ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter In­di­ra Chinebas last Thurs­day.

The moth­er of three was al­so or­dered to re­port to St Mar­garet’s Po­lice Sta­tion on Mon­days.

The cou­ple was en­gaged in an al­ter­ca­tion at their Di­a­mond Vil­lage home on May 27 that al­leged­ly led to Phillip be­ing stabbed in his ab­domen.

A sta­tus hear­ing has been fixed for Sep­tem­ber 17 while a Suf­fi­cien­cy hear­ing is sched­uled for No­vem­ber 24.
