An uniden­ti­fied woman was dis­cov­ered chopped to death along a road on the out­skirts of San Fer­nan­do yes­ter­day.

Po­lice found the body af­ter re­ceiv­ing an anony­mous call around 4:20 pm about a woman ly­ing mo­tion­less on the side of the road at Her­mitage Ex­ten­sion, Debe Road.

Po­lice said the body was ly­ing on its back and par­tial­ly cov­ered with a blue and mul­ti-coloured blan­ket. The de­ceased was de­scribed as mixed de­scent, light brown com­plex­ion, short black curly hair and about five feet five inch­es tall. She was clad in a black top and tights.

The body was re­moved to a fu­ner­al home pend­ing an au­top­sy at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre. Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau Re­gion 3 and South­ern Di­vi­sion vis­it­ed the scene. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
