The T&T Po­lice Ser­vice is mourn­ing the death of WPC Athali­ah Camp­bell, who was killed in a ve­hic­u­lar ac­ci­dent on Car­ni­val Tues­day.

Po­lice said WPC Camp­bell, 41, of Eligon Av­enue, Ramjohn Trace, Diego Mar­tin, was head­ing south along the Solomon Ho­choy High­way when up­on reach­ing the hill be­fore the Gas­par­il­lo Fly­over, she re­port­ed­ly lost con­trol of her car.

WPC Camp­bell was as­signed to the Po­lice Train­ing Acad­e­my in Port-of-Spain. A po­lice source said she told her col­leagues she was tired and was ea­ger to get home.

The man­gled wreck of her ve­hi­cle, wrapped around the pole, at­tract­ed the at­ten­tion of passers­by, who ex­pressed hor­ror at the crash. Pho­tos of the car cir­cu­lat­ed on so­cial me­dia last evening.
