Zebapique Productions tribute to legendary mas man Stephen Derek copped the Band of the Year title at the Red Cross Children’s Carnival on Saturday.
Jardel Aguillera’s portrayal of Super Nova and Jayla Penco’s Chinese Fan Dance were crowned Junior King and Queen at Red Cross Children’s Carnival.
The event, now in its 62nd year, saw junior masqueraders from 35 bands, including the return of Rosalind Gabriel’s Band with her portrayal of Buy Local, which earned her the ‘Large Band’ title.
Twelve Children’s Homes also attended the event, hosted by the Trinidad & Tobago Red Cross Society.
The Junior King and Junior Queen walked away with attractive prizes – Winner’s Trophy, a laptop courtesy ‘Linx’, airline tickets to any Caribbean Airlines destination, all courtesy the ‘Official Airline Carrier’ of the Red Cross Children’s Carnival, Caribbean Airlines.
The King and Queen will also each enjoy a weekend stay for a family of four at the Tropikist Hotel and Resort, in Tobago.
