Res­i­dents of Corinth Hills were left cow­er­ing un­der gun­fire on Sun­day morn­ing af­ter gun­men sprayed bul­lets at an apart­ment com­plex in San Fer­nan­do, shat­ter­ing win­dows, pierc­ing homes and in­jur­ing an off-du­ty po­lice of­fi­cer.

Four peo­ple are ex­pect­ed to be charged with the mur­ders of Ken­neth Gill and Bernard Ma­habir, whose burnt bod­ies were dis­cov­ered in the trunk of a car in Va­len­cia, on Mon­day, April 27.

From June 1, the Min­istry of the Peo­ple, So­cial De­vel­op­ment and Fam­i­ly Ser­vices will have a re­vised el­i­gi­bil­i­ty Stan­dard Means test al­low­ing more low-in­come and vul­ner­a­ble per­sons to qual­i­fy for State sup­port. This in­cludes house­holds af­fect­ed by the dis­con­tin­u­a­tion of the Com­mu­ni­ty En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion and En­hance­ment Pro­gramme (CEPEP).

The Min­istry of Trans­port and Civ­il Avi­a­tion has an­nounced a tem­po­rary sus­pen­sion of ser­vices at the Princes Town Li­cens­ing Of­fice due to a sched­uled elec­tric­i­ty dis­rup­tion. The in­ter­rup­tion will oc­cur on Wednes­day, 13 May 2026, be­tween 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., leav­ing the of­fice with­out pow­er dur­ing that pe­ri­od.
