T&T' swimmers Isaiah Alexander, Liam Roberts, Liam Carrington and Zachary Anthony give the thumbs up sign after a another scintillating record breaking performance in the 15-17 boys 800m freestyle to better a 16-year-old record of Martinique at the 38th edition of the Carifta Aquatics Championships at the National Aquatic Centre, Balmain, Couva on Monday night. The T&T quartet clocked a time of seven minutes, 54.25 seconds, just under the previous record swim of seven minutes, 54.61 seconds set by Martinique in 2009 while Aruba was a distant second in eight minutes, 05.59 seconds, and Jamaica, third, in eight minutes, 06.61 seconds. The 15-17 girls’ 400m medley relay quartet of Catherine Dieffenthaller, Zuri Ferguson, Toni-Rae Yates and Keryn Kurke are all smiles after collecting their gold medals for their winning time of four minutes, 27.77 seconds at the 38th edition of the Carifta Aquatics Championships hosted by the Aquatic Sports Association of T&T at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva, on Sunday night. Bahamas got silver in four minutes, 31.55 seconds and Martinique, the bronze medals in four minutes, 32.92 seconds.
