AC Port-of-Spain (AC PoS) will hope to main­tain or even ex­tend their three-point lead at the top of the 11-club T&T Pre­mier Foot­ball League (TTPFL) Tier I Di­vi­sion when they meet fourth-placed Tiger Tanks Club San­do in the fea­ture match of a dou­ble-head­er at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo in Port-of-Spain from 8.10 pm Fri­day night.

Go­ing in­to the penul­ti­mate round of match­es be­fore the league takes a two-week break for the 2024 Car­ni­val cel­e­bra­tions, AC PoS sits top of the ta­ble with 21 points from eight match­es, three ahead of Mis­cel­la­neous Po­lice FC while de­fend­ing cham­pi­on De­fence Force and Club San­do are next with 17 points each, four more than Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers in the fifth spot.

Both AC PoS and Club San­do will en­ter tonight's clash brim­ming with con­fi­dence af­ter con­trast­ing wins in their last out­ings.

One week ago at the same venue, last sea­son's run­ner-up AC PoS led by a hat-trick from Isa­iah "Bon­go" Lea­cock slammed sixth-placed Prison Ser­vice 5-1 for a sec­ond straight win af­ter a 1-0 loss to Po­lice FC, their first of the cam­paign. Club San­do got a de­ci­sive item from in-form Re­al Gill, who leaves short­ly to pick up a North Amer­i­can pro­fes­sion­al con­tract, to seal a 2-1 win over Cale­do­nia FC to stretch their un­beat­en run to four match­es, af­ter a sim­i­lar 1-0 loss to the Law­men, who have an off week.

In the night's open­er at Mu­cu­rapo from 6 pm, a well-rest­ed De­fence Force, com­ing off a bye week will be ex­pect­ed to pick up three points and main­tain their push for the top spot when they en­ter­tain Cen­tral FC, yet to pick up a point this sea­son.

Al­so to­day, Her­itage Pe­tro­le­um Point Fortin Civic Cen­tre host Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers at the Ma­haica Oval Sport­ing Com­plex in Point Fortin from 6 pm while in the ear­ly kick­off, Ea­gles FC and 1976 FC Phoenix clash at the Lar­ry Gomes Sta­di­um in Mal­abar, Ari­ma from 3.30 pm.

On Sun­day, the round will con­clude with T&T Pris­ons Ser­vice FC meet­ing La Hor­quet­ta Rangers at the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Sta­di­um from 7 pm.
