Following a two-week break for the Christmas holidays, Athletic Club Port-of-Spain (AC PoS) will be confident of maintaining their perfect record to start the second season of the T&T Premier Football League (TTPFL) Tier I Division when action resumes Wednesday.
Winners of their first four matches to start the season, AC PoS, last year’s runners-up after losing to eventual champions Defence Force on the final day of the season will meet Eagles FC in the first match of a double-header at the Arima Municipal Stadium from 6 pm
So far this campaign the “City Boys” have rattled off victories over Caledonia AIA (2-1), 1976 FC Phoenix (4-1), Terminix La Horquetta Rangers (2-1) and Central FC (8-1) in their final match before the break on December 20 while Eagles enter the match winners of only one of their first match matches, 2-0 over Heritage Petroleum Point Fortin Civic Centre with defeats against Prison Service (1-2) and Caledonia FC (0-2) after starting the season with a 1-1 draw with Police FC, and also Tiger Tanks Club Sando.
AC PoS coached by Walt Noreiga, currently leads the table with a maximum of 12 points after four matches, one ahead of the star-studded T&T Police FC line-up which will be at home at the Ken Cook Ground, St James Police Barracks Training Ground against Point Fortin.
Two hours later in the second match at Arima, surprise third placed outfit T&T Prison Service with nine points from five matches entertains Club Sando, two spots back in fifth with seven points.
Down at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, title-holders Defence Force coming winless in two matches meets a confident Caledonia FC riding the way of two straight wins to be level on six points with Terminix La Horquetta Rangers who is at home to Central FC in the day’s other fixture.
