Fol­low­ing a two-week break for the Christ­mas hol­i­days, Ath­let­ic Club Port-of-Spain (AC PoS) will be con­fi­dent of main­tain­ing their per­fect record to start the sec­ond sea­son of the T&T Pre­mier Foot­ball League (TTPFL) Tier I Di­vi­sion when ac­tion re­sumes Wednesday.

Win­ners of their first four match­es to start the sea­son, AC PoS, last year’s run­ners-up af­ter los­ing to even­tu­al cham­pi­ons De­fence Force on the fi­nal day of the sea­son will meet Ea­gles FC in the first match of a dou­ble-head­er at the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Sta­di­um from 6 pm

So far this cam­paign the “City Boys” have rat­tled off vic­to­ries over Cale­do­nia AIA (2-1), 1976 FC Phoenix (4-1), Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers (2-1) and Cen­tral FC (8-1) in their fi­nal match be­fore the break on De­cem­ber 20 while Ea­gles en­ter the match win­ners of on­ly one of their first match match­es, 2-0 over Her­itage Pe­tro­le­um Point Fortin Civic Cen­tre with de­feats against Prison Ser­vice (1-2) and Cale­do­nia FC (0-2) af­ter start­ing the sea­son with a 1-1 draw with Po­lice FC, and al­so Tiger Tanks Club San­do.

AC PoS coached by Walt Nor­eiga, cur­rent­ly leads the ta­ble with a max­i­mum of 12 points af­ter four match­es, one ahead of the star-stud­ded T&T Po­lice FC line-up which will be at home at the Ken Cook Ground, St James Po­lice Bar­racks Train­ing Ground against Point Fortin.

Two hours lat­er in the sec­ond match at Ari­ma, sur­prise third placed out­fit T&T Prison Ser­vice with nine points from five match­es en­ter­tains Club San­do, two spots back in fifth with sev­en points.

Down at the Hase­ly Craw­ford Sta­di­um, Mu­cu­rapo, ti­tle-hold­ers De­fence Force com­ing win­less in two match­es meets a con­fi­dent Cale­do­nia FC rid­ing the way of two straight wins to be lev­el on six points with Ter­minix La Hor­quet­ta Rangers who is at home to Cen­tral FC in the day’s oth­er fix­ture.
