Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege Ch­agua­nas main­tained its un­beat­en run to five match­es with an away win against Na­pari­ma Col­lege when com­pe­ti­tion in the Sec­ondary Schools Crick­et League Di­vi­sion One League con­tin­ued at Lewis Street, San Fer­nan­do, on Tues­day.

The reign­ing cham­pi­ons bat­ted first af­ter their cap­tain, Luke Ali, called right at the toss.

The de­ci­sion seemed to have back­fired when they lost Jadon Joseph 10 with the score on 15 for one. Joseph’s 2025 sea­son is con­trast­ing to his sea­son in 2024, when he start­ed the sea­son with back-to-back cen­turies.

Luke Ali then joined Dar­rius Ba­toos­ingh and made his de­ci­sion to bat first count when he scored 45 from 43. Dur­ing his time in the mid­dle, he lost Ba­toos­ingh (13) and Za­kariyya Mo­hammed (0) be­fore he was caught by wick­et­keep­er Omanan De­opaer­sad off the bowl­ing of Am­rit Pit­ti­man.

Chris­tiano Ra­manan, who re­tired hurt ear­li­er in the in­nings, re­turned to fin­ish 23 not out.

Pre­sen­ta­tion got fur­ther con­tri­bu­tions from Aneal Rooplal (35) and Alexan­der Chase (23) as they were bowled out for 192 in 45.2 overs.

Am­rit Pit­ti­man was St. Bene­dict’s best bowler with 3 for 30 and was sup­port­ed by Aa­di Ram­saran, Aar­i­on Mo­hammed, and Aidan Bis­soon­dath, who took two wick­ets each.

Na­pari­ma Col­lege came in­to the match un­beat­en but was re­duced to 30 for 2 af­ter the wick­ets of De­op­er­sad and Ram­saran for nine and two runs, re­spec­tive­ly.

But the mid­dle-or­der com­bi­na­tion of Pit­ti­man (25) and Ste­fan Kat­wa­roo (20) added some valu­able runs in the mid­dle in a 32-run part­ner­ship, but it was not close enough as ‘Naps’ were bowled out for 122.

Aneal Rooplal took 3 for 23 as the Na­pari­ma bat­ters suc­cumbed to the cham­pi­ons.
