The trio of Anthony siblings, Zahara, Zoe and Zachary all won their age-group titles to help Marlins Swim Club repeat as the overall club champions when the Aquatics Sports Association of T&T (ASATT) December Invitational Swimming Championships concluded at the National Aquatic Centre in Balmain, Couva, on Sunday night.
Overall, Marlins under the guidance of coaches Joe Mc Leod and Maurice Faria tallied 900 points to top the 34-club four-day meet, well clear of Red, White and Black Aquatics Academy's 670 while Flying Fish was third with 469, Tidal Wave, fourth with 419, and Vipers of Antigua, fifth with 365.
In the 9-10 girls category, Zahara Anthony tallied 57 points to take the top spot just ahead of Zalayhar Lewis of St Lucia's Blue Lightning who amassed 53 while Kaylee Warner of Antigua's Vipers Swim Club was third with 35.
The older of the sisters, Zoe Anthony also had a tough battle on her hands in the 15 and Over competition winning by a mere two points, 56 to Atlantis' Amelia Rajack's 54 while Blue Dolphins Swim Club's Kiara Goodridge secured the third spot with 46.
However, in the 15 and Over boys; Zachary Anthony was dominant in garnering 84 to beat clubmate Khadeem Brathwaite (48) and Guyana's Raekwon Noel of Dorado Speed Swim Club (42) into a distant second and third-placed finish.
Not to be overshadowed by their Marlins' clubmates, the duo of Alejandro Agard and Isaiah Alexander were joint winners of the 13-14 boys age-group (Marlins) with 83 points each, two more than Darren Belfon of Point Fortin Aqua Darts.
In the 11-12 girls's category, Marlins' Zara Persico and Vipers' Anya De Gannes shared the top spot with 81 points each, three more than Barbadian Amiya Harrison of High Tide Stingrays.
