Arima North Secondary emerged as the big winner on Monday (March 2) as the Trinidad and Tobago Secondary Schools Basketball League (TTSSBL) action intensified at the Maloney Indoor Sports Arena.
The East Zone saw a heavy schedule of high-scoring games, headlined by a dominant performance from Arima North in the competition hosted by the T&T Schools Basketball Association.
In the Under-17 boys division, Arima North secured a comfortable 57-43 victory over St Joseph’s College. After leading 30-20 at the half, Lance Crouch (17 points) and Azarion Ferguson (13 points) kept the pressure on to stave off a combined 27-point effort from St Joseph’s Nkosi Webb and Ethan DeCoteau.
Arima North’s U-15 boys dismantled Trinity East with a 64-19 blowout. The duo of Gabriel Goden and Lance Crouch proved unstoppable, contributing 20 points each in the win.
Also in the U-15 boys division, El Dorado West edged out Hillview College 37-32, piloted by a match-high 21 points from Jalani Jarvis.
In the U-13 boys division, Hillview found success in the youngest bracket, defeating San Juan South 31-15 behind Djoser Cariah’s 14 points.
