They may have competed on opposing teams in the ASNL but they came together to ensure that T&T would be heading to Liverpool, England next year for the Netball World Cup (NWC).
"The management committee and members of the Courts All Sectors Netball League sincerely congratulate the T&T national netball team on its success at the AFNA Championships," said ASNL administrator Brenda Prince on behalf of the league, which will host its season early next year.
With the exception of Kalifa McCollin who travelled, relatively early, to meet her commitment to the Vitality Super League, England, all the other members of the national team, played in the Courts All Sectors League this year. McCollin, though, has competed in previous editions of the league with the University of T&T (UTT).
The others include captain Rhonda John-Davis, Joelisa Cooper, Kemba Duncan and youngster Tahirah Hollingsworth of the Police Youth Club; Fire Services duo Onella Jack-Hill and Candice Guerero; Daystar Swift of the University of the West Indies (UWI); and UTT quartet Samantha Wallace, Shaquanda Greene and Seemungal sisters, Shernece and Shantel.
Wallace too is a professional player, who competes with the New South Wales Swifts in Australia. McCollin is with the benecosMavericks in England.
Manager of the national team Carol Demming-Gittens is also an administrator in the ASNL.
"The league considers that all the hard work and dedication certainly paid off with these successes and
these, in turn, demonstrate indomitable courage and fortitude," said Prince.
"The Courts All Sectors Netball League will continue to provide a platform for the participation of these
players in Netball at the elite level and will endeavour to support this work as they continue the journey to
NWC 2019.
"Congratulations again on the wins, the fearless efforts and individual achievements."
