Jor­danne Brown, Annabel­la Hill and Caitlin Whitling booked their spots on the na­tion­al team af­ter their im­pres­sive show­ing in their re­spec­tive com­pe­ti­tion at the T&T Eques­tri­an As­so­ci­a­tion (TTEA) Jump­ing League Fi­nal and the Caribbean Eques­tri­an As­so­ci­a­tion (CEA) Re­gion­al Jump­ing Chal­lenge (RJC), at the end of last year.

The trio were among 20 rid­ers that par­tic­i­pat­ed in the an­nu­al com­pe­ti­tion held at two venues, the Sad­dle Val­ley and San An­to­nio Sta­bles.

De­spite be­ing a chal­leng­ing year, due to the coro­n­avirus (COVID-19) pan­dem­ic, the TTEA was de­ter­mined to host its an­nu­al com­pe­ti­tion and it did from No­vem­ber 29 through to De­cem­ber 9, of course, ad­her­ing to all COVID-19 pro­to­cols.

In the RJC 1m Class, Brown aboard Au­dac­i­ty to Hope placed first, Hill topped the RJC/0.85M Class with Mo­roc­co and Whitling on Viking Thun­der won the RJC/0.7m Class at the four-day event spon­sored by Sco­tia Bank T&T, Courts, Smokey G’s, and Med­ical Health Care Lab.

In a re­lease sent out by the TTEA recog­nised the win­ners as well as all who as­sist­ed in host­ing the event say­ing: “A big thank you, to the TTEA Man­age­ment Com­mit­tee, TTEA Jump­ing Com­mit­tee, the Rid­ing Sta­bles, our judges and all our vol­un­teers. A huge con­grat­u­la­tions to our rid­ers who made the team in our CEA Re­gion­al Jump­ing Chal­lenge. Well done! It’s an ho­n­our to rep­re­sent T&T.

“The CEA RJC team mem­bers are all young, rid­ing against very sea­soned com­peti­tors in oth­er coun­tries such as Ja­maica, Bar­ba­dos, Bermu­da, Haiti, Cay­man Is­lands, An­tigua and Bar­bu­da.”
