DUBAI – Johnson Charles failed to fire for the Sharjah Warriors and they were soundly thrashed by 10-wickets by the Desert Vipers when the International League T20 (ILT20) continued at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.
Charles made just four and none of his teammates put up any resistance against the Vipers’ bowling attack to be skittled out for 91 in 19.1 overs.
Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir took 4-24 and Wanindu Hasaranga snared 3-10 to help rout the Warriorz.
The services of Sherfane Rutherford weren’t even required, as Fakhar Zaman then blasted an unbeaten 71 from 39 balls with seven fours and four sixes and his opening partner Alex Hales finished on 23 not out, as the Vipers raced to 95 without loss in 10 overs.
With the win, the Vipers remained at the top of the table with 10 points from their six matches while the struggling Warriorz slumped to their third defeat in five games to remain second from bottom on four points.
