National swimmer Jada Chatoor showed her intentions for this NCAA Division II season campaign as a member of the Emory University Eagles swimming team in Atlanta, Georgia, against Queens University of Charlotte on October 7.
This after the T&T swimmer won the 1,000-yard freestyle convincingly in 10:26.82 minutes, her fastest season opener and a new personal best mark, beating her 2021 time of 10:36.17.
Second to the wall was Sophie Lange of Queen’s University in 10:33.67 while her schoolmate Katherine Bailey was third in 10:45.51. Chatoor also had a silver medal finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:09.61 minutes to trail Lange who took top spot in 5:07.22 with Emory’s Katie Swan, third in 5:13.61.
Chatoor was back in the pool on Friday evening for a dual meet with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and was second in the women’s 1,650-yard freestyle in 17:28.58 minutes to finish behind Georgia Tech’s Allison Brown, who won in 17:24.87 while Emory’s Sloane Donovan was third in 17:50.78, and in the 200-yard freestyle, Chatoor was eighth in 1:59.73.
