Shackiel Henry and Nicholas Dillon scored two goals each to lead Tiger Tanks Club Sando to a 5-2 hammering of host 1976 FC Phoenix in the T&T Premier Football League (TTPFL) Tier I Division Wednesday.
Henry opened the scoring in the early kick-off at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet in the 38th minute, but a minute into the second half Josiah Gordon got Phoenix level.
Tobago-born defender Jamal Jack quickly restored Club Sando's lead in the 49th minute before Henry netted his second on the hour mark followed by Dillon's first in the 62nd to extend the visitor's lead to 4-1 and the result beyond doubt.
Dillon then got his second in the 77th minute before Adriel George added a late second for Phoenix in the 87th.
With the win, Club Sando pushed its point tally to 28 from 16 matches, five behind leader AC Port-of-Spain (AC PoS) who came up against defending double crown champions Defence Force, fourth with 27 points, in the second match of a mouth-watering double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo Wednesday night.
In the opener at Mucurapo, Miscellaneous Police FC, second in the standings with 31 points faced Caledonia AIA.
Up at the Arima Municipal Stadium, a doubleheader was also on the cards with Eagles FC against Terminix La Horquetta Rangers followed by Prison Service FC and Point Fortin Civic.
