Defending champion Club Sando and the University of T&T (UTT) will lock horns in the T&T Women’s League Football (WoLF) final on Wednesday at a venue to be confirmed after both teams registered commanding semifinal wins at the Phase II Recreation Ground in La Horquetta on Saturday.
In the night's opener of the double-header, Kanika Rodriguez scored five goals to lead a rampant Ayanna Russell-coached UTT to an 11-1 hammering of Tobago Group winner, Jewels SC.
Mariah Williams added a hat-trick for UTT while Cherine Steele got a pair of goals, and Shenei Findley, the other, as they secured their spot in the title match with relative ease, with Azizi Clarke netting Jewel's lone item.
In the night's second semifinal, title-holder Club Sando, under the guidance of coach Angus Eve, stormed past Tobago Chicas 8-0, behind a hat-trick from reigning two-time Secondary School Girls Football League (SSFL) Girls' and T&T Football Association (TTFA) Women's "Player of the Year" Nikita Gosine.
The quintet of Alexcia Ali, Shenieka Paul, Rasheda Archer, Tayeann Wylie, and Afiyah Cornwall all added one in the win.
