Samp Army Cocrico Cavaliers braved the adverse weather to defeat Bess Motors Blue Devils in Thursday’s action of the Dream XI Trinidad T10 Blast at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, San Fernando.
Kyle Ramdoo and Kjorn Ottley both slammed 27 to guide the Cavaliers to 79 for 2 after the Blue Devils scored 78 for three batting first for seven overs.
They got a good start and sped to 40 in three overs and four balls before Jesse Bootan was the first to be dismissed for 11 from 10 balls.
Six runs later, Ottley was caught by Castro off the bowling of Rivaldo Ramlogan.
Ramdoo then hit 27 not out. The Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC) batsman belted four sixes in his ten-ball knock as they got to target in 5.5 overs.
Earlier, Teshawn Castro hit 35 runs from 16 balls for the Blue Devils, who were sent in to bat after play started late because of rain. T&T Red Force fast bowling prospect Abdul Raheem Toppin snared two for 26 to keep the Blue Devils batters at bay.
In the second match of the day, Sidel Diaz slammed an unbeaten 59, which included four fours and six sixes, in Chicago Steelpan Players' ten-wicket win over Scarlet Ibis Scorchers.
