Cooper leads Bishop’s Centenary to second win

An­gel Coop­er scored a try and added two con­ver­sions to lead Bish­op’s Cen­te­nary Col­lege ‘A’ to a com­fort­able 14-0 shut-out of Holy Name Con­vent (Port-of-Spain) ‘A’ when match­es in the 2018 Sec­ondary School Girls Rug­by League con­tin­ued at the Queen’s Park Sa­van­nah, Port-of-Spain, on Wednes­day.

Laquisha Bernard scored the oth­er try for Bish­op Cen­te­nary in the win over Holy Name ‘A’ to add to their first round 5-0 de­feat of Bish­op Anstey High School 5-0 with Coop­er the lone try scor­er in that con­test.

The biggest win­ners on Wednes­day were Prov­i­dence Girls High School who dropped Holy Name Con­vent ’B’ 21 with a try each from Abi­gail Adams, Amar­tis Jawahir and Patrice James and three con­ver­sions by Kyiala Si­mon.

And in the day’s oth­er fix­ture Bish­op Cen­te­nary Col­lege ‘B’ 5 and Bish­op Anstey bat­tled to a 5-all draw with Ri­an­na Bernard and Keryce Bap­tiste scor­ing a try each for their re­spec­tive school.

St James Gov­ern­ment Sec­ondary School are the de­fend­ing cham­pi­ons af­ter they be­came the fourth school to lift the ti­tle in six years last year, cour­tesy a 15-1 de­feat of Bish­op Anstey ‘B’ 15-5 in the fi­nal.
