Na­tion­al women’s foot­ball team strik­er, Ken­nya “Yaya” Cord­ner capped off an im­pres­sive 3-0 win for Sand­viken in the Nor­we­gian Toppse­rien over Stabaek Foot­ball at Stem­me­myren, Bergen on Sat­ur­day.

The ta­ble-lead­ers Sand­viken held a 1-0 lead at the half-time in­ter­val thanks to Vilde Ha­sund’s 26th-minute strike.

With 11 min­utes left in the match, Mar­it Brat­berg Lund made it 2-0 be­fore 32-year-old Cord­ner com­plet­ed the scor­ing, a minute from full-time.

It was her first league goal since Au­gust 14.

The win kept Sand­viken at the top of the ten-club ta­ble with 43 points from 15 match­es, sev­en ahead of Rosen­borg who has a match in hand while LSK Kvin­ner is third with 31 points and a match in hand as well.

Cord­ner and her team­mates re­turn to league ac­tion on Oc­to­ber 17 against sev­enth-placed Avald­sness be­fore fac­ing fourth-placed Valeren­ga in the NM Cup fi­nal on Oc­to­ber 31.

In the semi­fi­nals on Oc­to­ber 3, Sand­viken blanked LSK Kvin­ner 2-0 while Valeren­ga trashed Rosen­borg 4-0, a day ear­li­er.
