De Orig­i­nal Game Shot (DOGS) bounced back from their match day one de­feat to trounce new­ly pro­mot­ed Triple Vi­sion 9-1, in A di­vi­sion ac­tion of the Na­tion­al Mixed For­mat League of Darts at Kos­mos Club, Port-of-Spain on Tues­day (Jan­u­ary 27).

The Triple Vi­sion team would have been fly­ing high af­ter a win­ning start on the open­ing day but they were im­me­di­ate­ly ground­ed by the reign­ing cham­pi­ons in what was a clin­i­cal and ruth­less dis­play of dart­ing tal­ent.

The re­sult sees DOGS at the top of the tree by one point. E-Z Lines made it two in two af­ter over­com­ing Jus For Fun 6-4. E-Z lines were cruis­ing at 4-2 and were able to sur­vive a late Vikings surge to se­cure a vi­tal vic­to­ry, which puts them in sec­ond place.

Drifters re­main un­beat­en af­ter de­feat­ing Scor­pi­ons 6-4 in what was a great con­test as both teams went hard for the vic­to­ry. It was 2-2 go­ing in­to the sin­gles rounds. Hec­tor Al­zo­la of Scor­pi­ons took the first scalp, Scott Man­nette of Drifters pulled one back for 3-3. Cap­tain of Scor­pi­ons Sher­az Ra­sool re­stored the lead to 4-3 but Drifters had enough in the tank to win the three re­main­ing legs to se­cure a vi­tal vic­to­ry to keep their ti­tle hopes alive.

In the B di­vi­sion, Flight­ed Friends con­tin­ued to soar as they faced new­ly pro­mot­ed Reck­less. They raced to a 2-0 lead ear­ly on, but Reck­less pulled one back and looked poised to mount a come­back. Reck­less’ hopes were dashed, how­ev­er, as Flight­ed Friends won the re­main­ing sev­en legs to win 9-1, keep­ing them safe and se­cure at the top.

West­er­ly Pi­rates are up to sec­ond af­ter a com­mand­ing 7-3 vic­to­ry over Jus For Fun Snipers. The Pi­rates didn’t have the best start to the sea­son, but bounced back on match-day two and were in full con­trol of the con­test, lead­ing at every stage to se­cure their first vic­to­ry of the sea­son.

Bul­lz I are now in third place af­ter de­feat­ing Shang­hai Bulls 6-4 in what was a tight­ly con­test­ed af­fair. Bul­lz I was able to hold on for vic­to­ry de­spite a spir­it­ed dis­play from Shang­hai Bulls.

Game Shot con­tin­ued their dom­i­nance of the C di­vi­sion af­ter an­oth­er 10/10 per­for­mance, brush­ing past Shoot­ers 10-0.

It was all Game Shot from the off­ing, as Shoot­ers had no re­ply and were just swept away in what was now back-to-back 10-0 wins for Game Shot. Bull­dogs re­main in sec­ond place af­ter de­feat­ing QPCC Howz-Dart 7-3. Bull­dogs were up 3-1, then pro­gressed to 6-1, QPCC were able to pull two legs back but the dam­age was al­ready done. Pleterzzz re­main in third place de­spite los­ing to Seas wolves 6-4.

Pel­terzzz start­ed the en­counter bright­ly, lead­ing 3-1 at one stage, but Sea Wolves were too hot to han­dle in the sin­gles round, mount­ing a bril­liant come­back to win the con­test.

Match-day three was sched­uled for Tues­day (Feb­ru­ary 3) at Kos­mos Club in both A and B di­vi­sion teams in ac­tion, while the C di­vi­sion was on a bye.
