Another former president of the T&T Netball Association (TTNA), Austrid Archer-Roachford, passed away on Thursday. She was 72 years old.
Archer-Roachford was also the elder sister of former TTNA president Martha Archer, whose funeral was held on Saturday afternoon after passing away on November 15 at the age of 68.
Now the families, friends and netball fraternity remain in mourning with the death of another long-serving netball administrator, who also served as second vice president in the TTNA.
Archer-Roachford, who was from Canaan, Tobago served as second vice president while her sister Martha was the first vice president under the leader of the late TTNA president Francisca Rousseau.
She also was the president of the Republic Bank Laventille Netball League for several years which promoted youth development through the sport as it catered for competition among some 15 clubs in two divisions - senior and junior - around Port-of-Spain including Hillgirls Netball Club, SWWTU Malvern, Fire Youth, Eastern Quarry, Ebony, Laventille United, MIC Tigers and IATF Police Youth Club, to name a few.
She leaves to mourn her husband Isiah Roachford and sons Kerron and Kyle Roachford and siblings Valerie Archer, who is based in the UK, Cheryl Archer-Darby-Payne, Charmaine Archer, Lenor Archer and Yolander Archer and Selwyn Archer. Their brother Joseph Wayne Archer is deceased.
