All four T&T teams en­joyed tri­umphant out­ings when match­es in the sec­ond edi­tion of the In­ter­na­tion­al Ten­nis Fed­er­a­tion/Con­fed­er­a­tion of Ten­nis of Cen­tral Amer­i­ca and the Caribbean (ITF/COTECC) Sub Re­gion Four Un­der-12 De­vel­op­ment Team Cham­pi­onship con­tin­ued at the Na­tion­al Rac­quet Cen­tre, Or­ange Grove Road, Tacarigua, on Tuesday.

In the Girls’ com­pe­ti­tion, the T&T I team of Ab­ba Camp­bell-Smith, Make­da Bain and Cyra Ram­cha­ran fol­lowed up their 3-0 de­feat of the T&T II team of Karis­sa Mo­hammed, Cher­dine Sylvester, and Suri-Ann Mo­hammed with a sim­i­lar 3-0 beat­ing of Guyana to im­prove to a record of 2-0 in the six-team round-robin se­ries and match­es left to play against Grena­da to­day, fol­lowed by St Lu­cia to­mor­row (on Thurs­day), and Aru­ba on Fri­day.

Camp­bell-Smith fired T&T in­to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three tie cour­tesy of her 6-0, 6-2 beat­ing of Kimo­ra Er­sk­ine while Bain, the re­cent win­ner of the Sagi­cor Un­der-14 crown steam­rolled Nio­mi Er­sk­ine 6-1, 6-0 be­fore Bain and Ram­cha­ran (C) swept past the Er­sk­ine sis­ters, 6-0, 6-1 in the Dou­bles for a 3-0 tri­umph.

The T&T II girls re­bound­ed from their open­ing day loss to the coun­try­women by brush­ing aside Grena­da 3-0 with Mo­hammed blank­ing Janiyah Lewis 6-0, 6-0; Sylvester trash­ing An­abelle Stanis­laus 6-0, 6-0 and Mo­hammed, and Suri-Ann Ram­cha­ran 6-1, 6-1 win­ners over Lewis, and Stanis­laus in the Dou­bles, and will meet Aru­ba to­day be­fore fac­ing Guyana on Thurs­day, and St Lu­cia on Fri­day.

The lo­cal boys’ teams of Jack Brown, Josi­ah Hills, and Ja­cob Jacelon (T&T I), and the T&T II trio of Oliv­er Har­ra­gin, Christo­pher Khan, and Se­bastien Plim­mer won their re­spec­tive clash­es with US Vir­gin Is­lands in Group B, and St Lu­cia in Group C, by sim­i­lar 3-0 mar­gins to reach the semi­fi­nal stage as group win­ners.

Against USVI, Brown slammed Alden Richards 6-0, 6-0; Hills out­played Hen­ry Collins 6-0, 7-5 and Hills and Jacelon stopped Collins and Richards 6-0, 6-2, and in the oth­er match, Har­ra­gin top­pled St Lu­cian San­jay Lake 6-2, 6-3; Khan topped Den­ney Es­ta­va 6-4, 6-1, and the pair of Har­ra­gin, and Khan stopped Es­ta­va, and Lake, 7-5, 7-6(1) in the Dou­bles.

In the oth­er match­es, Bar­ba­dos de­feat­ed Cu­ra­cao 3-0 to end at the top of Group A with a 2-0 record, while Cu­ra­cao end­ed in the sec­ond spot at 1-1, and Grena­da, 0-2 for the cel­lar spot.
