T&T's men's team of Dwight St Hillaire, Asa Gue­vara, Machel Ce­de­nio and Jereem Richards, run­ning in that or­der won gold in the men's 4x400 me­tres re­lay event at the Com­mon­wealth Games in Birm­ing­ham, Eng­land on Sun­day.

The lo­cal quar­tet clocked three min­utes and 01.89 sec­onds to cross the line ahead of Botswana with 3:01.85 and Kenya with a sea­son's best 3:02.41 in the Alexan­der Sta­di­um.

It was the sec­ond gold medal for an­chor Richards, who on Sat­ur­day won the men's 200m with a Games re­cond and per­son­al best time of 19.80.
