ST JOHN’S – For­mer West In­dies wick­et­keep­er/bats­man Jah­mar Hamil­ton lashed a quick­fire half-cen­tu­ry as An­guil­la de­feat­ed An­tigua & Bar­bu­da by 11 runs in a thrilling en­counter in the Lee­ward Is­lands T20 Crick­et Fes­ti­val (LIT20) in An­tigua on Tues­day.

Hamil­ton hit 52 from 28 balls with six fours and four six­es, to help An­guil­la post a com­pet­i­tive 157 for four from their 20 overs at the Sir Vi­van Richards Crick­et Sta­di­um.

De­on Bur­ton scored an un­beat­en 30 not out from 29 balls, while Jaidel Richard­son fin­ished on 27 not out from 17 balls.

Hay­den Walsh Jr took 2-29 from his four overs for An­tigua & Bar­bu­da.

How­ev­er, de­spite a spir­it­ed ef­fort from the home side, they were even­tu­al­ly dis­missed for 146 with three balls re­main­ing.

Michael Haynes-Dover top­scored with a fight­ing 38 off 33 balls, while Kari­ma Gore scored an ag­gres­sive 27 off just 17 balls.

Richard­son al­so starred with the ball for An­guil­la tak­ing 3-36, with An­dros Bowens snag­ging 3-25 and Shiv­nar­ine Ben­jamin 3-15.
