For­mer Uni­ver­si­ty of T&T (UTT) play­ers, Jef­fery Har­ris and Joel Hinds, have been cho­sen as as­sis­tant coach­es for the Frenchy US Camp which start­ed on Fri­day in France. The camp will be staged across 110 cities over a 12-week pe­ri­od.

Har­ris and Hinds will trav­el to a new city in France every week to coach a dif­fer­ent group of kids. Their par­tic­i­pa­tion is main­ly through the ini­tia­tive of na­tion­al play­er Kyle Row­ley with as­sis­tance from for­mer na­tion­al team man­ag­er, Al­bert Lee Young.

Row­ley has part­nered with Frenchy As­so­ciate in the glob­al strat­e­gy and mar­ket­ing of its pro­grammes. This year's camp will be the biggest in Eu­rope.

Frenchy As­so­ciate is the lead­ing es­tab­lish­ment for bas­ket­ball camps in Eu­rope and is man­aged by the pres­i­dent of the or­gan­i­sa­tion, Arthur Framery. It or­gan­is­es bas­ket­ball camps, en­tire­ly in Eng­lish, us­ing the lat­est and most elite equip­ment for Eu­ro­pean clubs and acad­e­mies all around the world.

Young par­tic­i­pants will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to play bas­ket­ball in an elite pro­gramme and with a high lev­el of train­ing which can help them to im­prove their skills, abil­i­ties and un­der­stand­ing of the game. The par­tic­i­pants are from nine to 20 years old.

Over the years, Frenchy As­so­ciate has had strong growth in terms of the num­ber of kids and camps. From the first camp in 2013 with 35 par­tic­i­pants to the 110 camps with 3,500 par­tic­i­pants this year cov­er­ing France, Bel­gium, Italy, Switzer­land and Spain.

The or­gan­i­sa­tion has part­ner­ships with more than 300 clubs in France that al­lows them to have dif­fer­ent lev­els of camps. Dif­fer­ent kinds of prac­tices are planned with high-qual­i­ty train­ers who share knowl­edge and ex­pe­ri­ences with the kids.

Dur­ing the camps, Frenchy As­so­ciate will pro­vide a full pack­age to put the kids in the best con­di­tions to have fun and im­prove their bas­ket­ball skills and abil­i­ties.

Mean­while, Frenchy As­so­ciate and Row­ley will al­so be host­ing the Serge Iba­ka Dreams Acad­e­my in Beau­couze, France from Ju­ly 8-13 with Iba­ka, re­cent NBA cham­pi­on with the Toron­to Rap­tors.
