BRISTOL – West Indies will be bolstered by the addition of left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein for the second T20I against England on Sunday.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced on Saturday that Hosein, the number two ranked T2o bowler in the world, will join the squad on Sunday morning ahead of the match in Bristol, England.
The 32-year-old Trinidadian missed out Friday’s opener, which West Indies lost by 21 runs, after failing to meek UK visa requirements.
Hosein along with Jyd Goolie failed to secure the necessary documentation following updated UK visa entry requirements for Trinidad and Tobago citizens, which came into effect on April 23 and May 12, 2025.
While Goolie will miss out on the entire tour after being unable to secure the required visa waiver, Hosein was allowed entry after CWI made formal efforts to expedite the visa process.
