The same ap­plies in sport. Suc­cess­ful sports­women, sports­men, and coach­es have all used var­i­ous self-mo­ti­vat­ing max­ims in ad­di­tion to their tal­ents and skills to over­come chal­lenges and ob­sta­cles and stay ahead of the com­pe­ti­tion in their re­spec­tive sport­ing dis­ci­plines.
