Lee Son wins St. Joseph's Convent 5k

Daniel­la Lee Son out ran her school­mates to win the Sec­ond an­nu­al St. Joseph's Con­vent of San Fer­nan­do 5K Road Race last Sat­ur­day on a driz­zly af­ter­noon in Palmiste Park with the start and fin­ish at the Block 7 Play­ground.

There were 487 en­tries in­clud­ing stu­dents from in­vit­ed schools. Lee Son of St. Joseph's Con­vent emerged as the girls' cham­pi­on in a time of 26 min­utes 55 sec­onds. Her school­mate Dana Hug­gins stopped the clock in 28:10 for sec­ond while woman cam­paign­er Car­o­line Creteau fin­ished third in 28 min­utes and 11 sec­onds.

Ariel Bha­gan, who record­ed 29 min­utes and 42 sec­ond of St. Joseph's Con­vent was the third stu­dent over­all to cross the fin­ish-line.

Kyle Young Lao of A.S.J.A. Boys' clocked 18 min­utes and 28 sec­ond to cop the Boys ti­tle from Kris De­o­nanan (19:45), a par­ent of a St Joseph's Con­vent stu­dent, while Cy Sargeant (20:08) fin­ished third.

Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege of San Fer­nan­do star foot­baller Jor­dan Ri­ley was the sec­ond stu­dent to cross the fin­ish-line in 21 min­utes and 25 sec­onds while Na­pari­ma's Shadeon Arthur fin­ished third in 21:41.

The event was or­ga­nized by School's par­ents and the theme was the UN­ESCO Sus­tain­able De­vel­op­ment Goal #3 - Good Health and Well Be­ing. Among the spon­sors were Raw Fit­ness H/C, Jusam­co, Damus, JTA, Laing Sand­blast­ing, Bermudez, Caribbean Bot­tlers, Can­ton Palace, Red Par­adise, Pron­to Print, and Na­tion­al Can­ners.
