T&T's Jameela McCarthy's debut season with the Saracens Mavericks in the Vitality Netball Superleague (VSNL) was cut short due medical reasons. This according to a release from the club via its various social media platforms on Friday.
It said: "Saracens Mavericks can today (Friday) confirm that Jameela McCarthy has been unable to finish this season with Saracens Mavericks due to medical grounds.
"Jameela was a highly valued member of the squad and we of course wish her all the best in the future."
Head Coach Kat Ratnapala spoke on the defender's departure in the release saying: "People will always come first at our club and we would ask that everyone respects Jameela’s decision. She will be sorely missed in this 2022 campaign and we wish her a very speedy recovery."
McCarthy missed the Mavericks' match on the weekend against Severn Stars, which they won 62-54 at the University of Worchester Arena.

Round five continues this weekend with Mavericks will be back in action today hosting Manchester Thunder at the Hertfordshire Sports Village. Earlier, Greene-Noel's Wales-based Dragons will seeking its first win of the season when they meet Pulse at Copper Box Arena in London.
