Michael Mc­Carthy reg­is­tered a jaw-drop­ping 46 points and pulled down 29 re­bounds to lead Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege San Fer­nan­do to a 94-80 vic­to­ry over St An­tho­ny’s Col­lege when ac­tion in the RBC Roy­al Slam Col­lege’s Bas­ket­ball Tour­na­ment on the week­end (Oc­to­ber 11-12).

Bas­ket­ball fans were treat­ed to an­oth­er thrilling week­end of ac­tion at the East­ern Re­gion­al In­door Sports Are­na in Tacarigua. With high-in­ten­si­ty matchups, stand­out per­for­mances, and pas­sion­ate school spir­it, week two of the tour­na­ment de­liv­ered non-stop ex­cite­ment.

Sat­ur­day’s dou­ble-head­er tipped off with the South ver­sus North show­down as Pre­sen­ta­tion Col­lege took on St An­tho­ny’s Col­lege.

It was the boys from South who emerged vic­to­ri­ous, pow­ered by a dom­i­nant per­for­mance from their big man Mc­Carthy, who alond with his match-high dou­ble-dou­ble had four steals, three blocks, and four as­sists, lead­ing Pre­sen­ta­tion to the 14-point vic­to­ry.

De­spite the loss, St An­tho­ny’s fought valiant­ly, with Amir Bal­go­b­in, con­tribut­ing 28 points and Ja­heim McLeod adding 17 points in an en­ter­tain­ing of­fen­sive dis­play.

In the sec­ond matchup of the night, Queen’s Roy­al Col­lege (QRC) picked up their first win of the tour­na­ment with a con­fi­dent 82-56 vic­to­ry over St Fran­cis Boys Col­lege. Tal­ib Daniel led the charge with 24 points and six re­bounds, while Ke­vani Boatswain record­ed a strong dou­ble-dou­ble per­for­mance of 16 points and 11 re­bounds to seal the win for the Roy­alians.

Sun­day’s clash saw Fa­ti­ma Col­lege con­tin­ue their im­pres­sive form, cruis­ing to a 92–36 win over St Fran­cis Boys Col­lege to notch their sec­ond win of the tour­na­ment. The game’s spot­light be­longed to 12-year-old prodi­gy Ja­keem King, who daz­zled with 17 points, 10 steals, and six as­sists, prov­ing that age is just a num­ber in this elite com­pe­ti­tion.

Tour­na­ment ac­tion re­sumes this week­end (Oc­to­ber 25-26), fea­tur­ing the fi­nal group stage games be­fore the play­off rounds. All games tip off from 4 pm at the same venue.
