Kyle Mowser scored a hat trick to lead Full Barrel Sports Bar to a one-sided 4-0 thrashing of Spirit Mas in the 35 and Under Division as the Queen’s Park Cricket Club’s 8-A-Side Football Tournament continued at the Queen’s Park Oval, Tragarete Road, St Clair on Wednesday.
Luke Ramdeen netted the other goal for Full Barrel Sports Bar who improved to 18 points from ten matches and hold on to the third spot in the standings, seven behind leader The Pouch Company, who spanked Tribe 5-0 led by two goals each from Sean De Silva and Yohann Alexander, and Jason Devenish completing the scoring.
BMW, presently in the second spot with 20 points, recorded a hard-fought 3-2 win against fifth-placed Karcher. The trio of Devin Santos, Christian Landreth-Smith, and Jordan Vieira found the nets for the winners to cancel out an Andrew Abraham brace; while in the other match in this category, King Signs won by default from Ready Freddie to stay fourth with 16 points.
In the 36 to 45 age group, Darren Cowie scored the lone goal as Domino's stunned defending champions and table leaders Ansa Bank 1-0, who despite the loss stayed top with 16 points from eight matches, three points ahead of Harts who blanked Seaboard 3-0 through goals by Benedict Barrett, Marc Campbell and an own goal.
Other results from this division saw C-Sport join Domino's in the third spot with 12 points from nine matches each, after shutting out Kyra Investments 2-0 with a double from Mark Simon-De Freitas; while Kyra Investments also won by a similar 2-0 margin over Domino's thanks to strikes from Keron Nexar and Jonathan Murray; and Degree edged Seaboard 2-1 with efforts from Jason Lindsay and Jonathan Tardieu cancelling out Shaun Lynch's item.
Q Power Battery continued to lead the way after seven matches in the 46 to 53 Division with 17 points, following a 2-0 win over Earth Enerji with strikes from Anderson Abraham, and Robert Caesar separating the teams. Ultimate Events dropped two points in a 2-2 draw with Stag to trail by three points, leaving Mini Bar in a distant third with seven points after a similar 2-2 deadlocked result with defending champions, Precision Cyber Technologies.
In the 54 to 60 category, SAS stayed three points clear of Steel Drum after playing unbeaten in their two matches to date, first a goalless versus third-placed Carpenter's Edge (12 points) and then a 1-0 win over Fat Boys due to a Darryl White scorcher. Steel Drum also won 1-0 thanks to an an own goal against fifth-placed House Hunters (11 pts); while titleholders, All Out Sports Bar, had the night off and remain on 12 points thanks to a bye.
