The Next Level Performance (NLP) has partnered with the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) to host the 2025 National Soccer Combine, an event that will bring together the country’s top 40 male and top 25 female youth footballers for three days of elite testing, competition, and international scouting exposure at the TTDF training field, Macqueripe, Chaguaramas, from December 12 to 14.
The first-time event will mark a historic milestone for local football development, as three major international organisations have confirmed their attendance, namely, (1) Red Bull New York - One of the world’s most respected global football brands, recognised for its professional scouting network and development pathway. (2) Murray State College – NJCAA Division I: a top U.S. junior college programme known for recruiting athletic talent from around the world, and (3) Butler Community College – NJCAA Division I: a powerhouse NJCAA programme with a long track record of producing high-performance collegiate athletes.
NLP founder Brian Jordan assured that all three institutions have confirmed participation, with the NJCAA programmes already completing travel arrangements and preparing to scout athletes on the ground in T&T, creating real pathways for Caribbean athletes.
According to Jordan, “The 2025 Soccer Combine was created to provide a direct, credible, and high-value pathway for young footballers to earn scholarships, secure international recruitment opportunities, and gain exposure that has traditionally been inaccessible to athletes across the Caribbean.”
“Across the three days, athletes will take part in full athletic testing and performance evaluations.
Positional drills and small-sided competitive play, match-day showcase games, video and data capture through the Next Level Performance Digital Platform, and direct interaction and feedback opportunities with international scouts.”
Speaking on the partnership, Garvin Warwick, CEO & Founder of Next Level Performance TT, stated: “This Combine represents what we stand for: creating real pathways, building opportunities, and opening doors for young athletes across T&T and the wider Caribbean. The confirmation from Red Bull New York and two top NJCAA Division I colleges shows that international programmes are watching, and they believe in the talent that exists here.”
SSFL President Merere Gonzales echoed the significance of this collaboration: “The SSFL is committed to enhancing opportunities for our student-athletes (footballers) both locally and internationally. Partnering with Next Level Performance elevates the level of exposure available to our footballers within the SSFL and reinforces the importance of development beyond the school season.”
Jordan said the Soccer Combine aligns with Next Level Performance’s wider vision of using technology, video analysis, and international relationships to ensure Caribbean athletes can compete on the same global stage as their peers. The event is expected to become an annual national platform, bridging the gap between talent identification and professional advancement.
