No medals for T&T in the morn­ing ses­sion of day two at the 50th Carif­ta Games in Nas­sau, Ba­hamas on Sun­day.

Jinell Camp­bell was among the best fin­ish­ers for T&T on the sec­ond day of the pre­mier youth track and field meet in the re­gion. She placed fifth in the girls' Un­der-20 shot put event. The 19-year-old best throw mea­sured 12.83 me­tres. This was in the sixth and fi­nal round.

Ja­maican pair Bri­tan­nia John­son and Bri­tan­nie John­son top two spots with 14.54m and 13.74m, re­spec­tive­ly for gold and sil­ver. St Lu­cia's Joy Ed­ward bagged the bronze with 13.53m.

Javelin throw­er Keni­ka Cas­sar and long jumper An­drew Steele placed sev­enth in their re­spec­tive events at Carif­ta50.

Cas­sar's best throw mea­sured 41.20m in the girls' U-20 javelin. Guyana's An­isha Gib­bons won the gold medal with 47.96m. Ko­rann Co­let of French Guiana was the sil­ver medal­list with 45.32m and Ba­hami­an Vanes­sa Sawyer was the bronze medal­list with 43.37m.

Steele leaped to a dis­tance of 7.16m on his best try in the third round in the boys' U-20 long jump. Win­ning gold was his name­sake An­drew Stone of the Cay­man Is­lands with a mark of 7.54m. De­mario Prince of Ja­maica got the sil­ver medal with 7.44m and Ba­hami­an Ma­teo Smith, the bronze with the same mark of 7.44m.

Over on the track sev­er­al ath­letes pro­gressed to the next round in their re­spec­tive events card­ed Sun­day evening.

Alexxe Hen­ry, the reign­ing girls' U-17 100m bronze medal­list, and Kazi­ah Pe­ters moved on to the semi­fi­nals in the girls' U-17 200m. Hen­ry fin­ished sec­ond in heat two with 24.43 to progress as an au­to­mat­ic qual­i­fi­er. Pe­ters was third in the fourth heat with 24.98. The semi­fi­nals are at 4.30 pm.

Joshua Mas­call is a semi­fi­nal­ist in the boys' U-20 200m. Run­ning in lane five in heat one, Mas­call clocked 21.70 sec­onds to cross in sec­ond place.

Rev­ell Web­ster who was al­so sched­uled to com­pete in heat five, did not start.

T&T's Natasha Fox and Keneisha Shel­bourne ad­vanced to the fi­nal of the girls' U-20 400m hur­dles. Fox crossed sec­ond in the first of two heats with a time of 1:01.52 while Shel­bourne fin­ished third in the oth­er semi­fi­nal heat with 1:02.86. The fi­nal is sched­uled for 4.15 pm.

Ste­fan Came­jo and Nathan Cum­ber­batch were au­to­mat­ic qual­i­fiers for the fi­nal of the boys' U-20 800m. Came­jo topped heat one with 1:53.64 and ad­vanced with the fastest qual­i­fy­ing time.

Cum­ber­batch clocked 1:56.38 to progress with the third quick­est time among the fi­nal­ists. The fi­nal is sched­uled for Mon­day at 5.25 pm.

Fol­low­ing ac­tion on day one, Sat­ur­day, T&T closed with six medals - a gold, two sil­ver and three bronze. A gold from Im­mani Matthew in the boys' U-17 long jump, two sil­ver from Do­ri­an Charles in the boys' U-20 javelin and Pey­ton Win­ter in the girls' U-17 shot put and three bronze from Sanaa Fred­er­ick in the girls U-20 100m, Jai­di James in the boys' U20 high jump and Hen­ry (girls' U-17 100m).
