The trio of Pleasantville Secondary School (South), Presentation College, Chaguanas (Central) and East Mucurapo Secondary School (North) captured their respective Secondary Schools Football League Boys Championship Division zonals crown on Tuesday to stay in contention for promotion to next year’s Premier Division.
In the South Zone, second-placed Palo Seco Secondary School started their final-day fixture three points behind Pleasantville, who they hosted, needing nothing less than an outright win to overtake the leaders and land the zonal crown.
However, at the end of the 90 minutes, Pleasantville Secondary came away with the required drawn result of 0-0 to make certain of the title, and with it, a spot in the Boys’ Championship Division Big Five competition, where they will face the four other zonal winners in a round-robin series with three spots up for grabs for promotion to the Premier Division.
